“I’m excited to join the team:" Brewers name 35-year-old Jamie Norton VP of finance and accounting

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers have named Jamie Norton to the position of vice president – finance and accounting.

35-year-old Norton will oversee the daily financial operations of the Brewers and Brewers Community Foundation, including financial reporting, budgeting, risk management, tax compliance, and payroll.

“Jamie brings an ideal combination of skills and experience to this position, and we know he will be a key contributor to the Brewers and to our finance operations,” said Brewers Executive Vice President – Finance and Administration Bob Quinn.

Norton comes to the Brewers after spending the last nine seasons in the finance department of the Chicago Cubs. He started with the Cubs in 2007 as Manager of Finance before being promoted to Assistant Director of Finance and Risk Management in 2013. His additional career experience includes three years (2005-2007) serving as Senior Internal Auditor, Corporate Internal Audit Department for the Tribune Company and two years (2003-2005) as Auditor – Commercial Sales Group for American Express Tax and Business Services.

A 2003 graduate of Miami (Ohio) University, Norton earned double Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Finance. He is a native of Dayton, Ohio, and will be relocating to the Milwaukee area.

Norton officially begins his duties with the Brewers on Thursday, October 1st.
