KENOSHA COUNTY — Lucia Hernandez-Alvarez pleaded not guilty on Friday, September 25th to charges tied to the deaths of her two children, three-year-old Alicia Hernandez and one-year-old Javier Hernandez.

The charges filed against Hernandez Alvarez include the following:

  • First-degree intentional homicide (2 counts)
  • False imprisonment (2 counts)
  • Administering dangerous or stupefying drug (2 counts)

In court Friday, Hernandez-Alvarez waived her right to a preliminary hearing. At that point, the judge found there was probable cause to move the case to trial — and Hernandez-Alvarez entered her not guilty pleas.

Investigators say Hernandez Alvarez murdered her children in their Kenosha home near 50th St. and 33rd Ave. late on Friday night, September 11th.

A mass of Christian burial for Alicia and Javier was held on Friday, September 18th at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Kenosha. A GoFundMe page has also been set up for Alicia and Javier.

Hernandez-Alvarez is expected back in court on November 19th.
