Sheriff's Office: Charges could come soon against five teens after attempted carjacking & pursuit

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say charges could be filed soon against five teenagers accused in an attempted carjacking and pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle became wedged between a parked vehicle and an oncoming school bus last Thursday, September 24th.

Around 4:30 p.m., a deputy was flagged down by a woman after a group of teenagers pointed a gun at her and attempted to steal her vehicle near 16th and Scott.

The deputy was patrolling as part of a stolen auto interdiction unit, in cooperation with a request from Milwaukee Alderman Bob Donovan, Sheriff's officials say.

The deputy notified Milwaukee police, and deputies were joined by MPD officers as the seven-mile pursuit began.

The five teenagers inside the suspect vehicle -- one 13-year-old girl and four boys (two aged 14, one aged 13, and one aged 15) fled from the vehicle, which was stolen out of West Allis, according to the Sheriff's Office.

These teens were apprehended by deputies and MPD officers after a perimeter was established and witnesses were able to provide information to officials.
