SAN DIEGO, California --Jean Segura hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the sixth inning to help Jorge Lopez win his major league debut and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres 4-3 on Tuesday night, September 29th.

Lopez (1-0) allowed three runs and eight hits in five innings, struck out seven and walked two. The 22-year-old's contract was selected a week earlier from Double-A Biloxi, where he went 12-5 with a 2.26 ERA in 24 starts. He was named the Southern League Pitcher of the Year and the Brewers' Minor League Pitcher of the Year.

The Brewers trailed 3-2 going into the sixth. Khris Davis singled to left and Segura hit a one-out homer off Tyson Ross (10-12) into the balcony on the third level of the Western Metal Supply Co. Building in the left-field corner. It was the sixth homer for Segura, who also hit an RBI double in the first.

Francisco Rodriguez pitched the ninth for his 38th save in 40 chances.
