Busted: 31-year-old man now in custody in connection with armed robberies at Racine Co. libraries

RACINE COUNTY -- Racine County Sheriff's officials say an arrest has been made in connection with August armed robberies at two libraries.

Shortly before noon on August 6th, Sheriff's officials were dispatched to an armed robbery that occurred at the Village of Rochester Library.

Approximately 15 minutes after the initial call, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an attempted robbery at the Village of Waterford Library.

Investigators and responding deputies immediately determined that the Waterford and Rochester incidents were related and launched a full-scale investigation into the matter.

Now, we've learned a 31-year-old man has been taken into custody for these crimes.

On Wednesday, September 30th, a search warrant was executed at the man's home in Burlington, and he was taken in to custody.

He is currently being held on several felony and misdemeanor charges related to the incidents mentioned above.

He is also currently being held on a probation hold from the Wisconsin DOC.
