Woman gets bill for missed meal after not showing up at wedding

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – A Minnesota woman received a bill in the mail after she was unable to attend a wedding.

Jessica Baker told KARE her mother was supposed to watch her kids for the wedding but "something came up" and she was unavailable. Because the wedding invitation said "no kids," Baker was unable to go.

A few weeks later, Baker received a bill in the mail for $75.90 to cover the cost of two dinners at the reception.

"You've got to be kidding me," she told KARE. "It listed, we would have had two herb crusted walleye and there was also a service and tax charge."

A note on the bottom of the bill said:

"This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVP'd for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated."

Baker said she does not plan to pay the bill.
