MILWAUKEE — Most identity theft crimes occur when something containing your personal information is lost or stolen. Now, your chance to protect yourself from identity theft is coming up on Saturday, October 10th.

Bring your personal documents to BBB ShredFest, to be held at Summit Credit Union, 10015 W. Greenfield Ave., Milwaukee from 8:30 am to 11 am. There is a limit of three paper bags per car. BBB of Wisconsin Foundation, Summit Credit Union and Piranha Paper Shredding, LLC are co-sponsoring the event.

The event is part of a larger, national shredding event hosted by BBB offices throughout the United States. Many BBB offices – including the Wisconsin BBB – host shredding events twice annually. The BBB shredded more than 87,600 pounds of material at our Spring ShredFest events.

For more information on what needs to be shredded including a “shred it” checklist, visit the BBB’s website.
