MILWAUKEE — It’s a chance for some free family fun at Discovery World this weekend — and it’s thanks to FOX6 and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.

October’s ‘Gift to the Community’ was free admission to ‘Weekend on the Water’ at Discovery World on October 3rd and 4th.

The interactive exhibit features shows, special activities, programs and tours.

Officials at Discovery World say they only get to offer free events like this a few times a year because they are privately funded. They say they are thrilled when they get the opportunity.

“Watching kids walk in and see the lake, some of them for the first time, and see what we have to offer here; they’re first opportunity to touch a fish, or play with a shark — those kinds of things. It’s wonderful for us to be able to see that and be able to offer that to the community,” said Discovery World President and CEO, Joel Brennan.

It’s not too late to check out Discovery World. Weekend on the Water is free on Sunday, October 4th and Discovery World is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Be sure to tune in to Real Milwaukee on Thursday, November 5th for the reveal of the next Gift to the Community on FOX6.
