Get ready to ride: Even more Bublr Bike stations being installed in October

MILWAUKEE -- Seventeen new Bublr Bikes stations are being installed in October around the City of Milwaukee, more than doubling the 11 bike sharing stations already in place. Installation of the 17 new stations will continue through early October, with all stations operational by mid-October, weather permitting.

The new stations are the result of partnerships between the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works, Bublr Bikes, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The 17 additional stations will extend Bublr Bikes’ presence to new locations north, south and west of current bike share stations. The new sites include:

The City received a $1.6 million federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant to install approximately 30 new Bublr Bike share stations in 2015 and 2016. Twelve of the new stations are funded with CMAQ dollars. The five remaining stations are funded privately by Bublr Bikes, which is operating the UWM-area stations through an investment of student segregated fees approved by the Student Senate.
