MILWAUKEE -- A construction worker was sent to the hospital early Thursday morning, October 8th following an accident on I-94. It happened just after 2 a.m. near Howard Avenue.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, a semi-tractor trailer struck a hydraulic lift that had a construction worker in it. The worker was taken to the hospital for chest, rib and leg injuries.

Officials say the tractor-trailer was carrying 76,000 pounds of bottled water. The trailer split, so the load of water had to be removed. As as result, officials temporarily closed the right lane of traffic. All lanes reopened just after 5 a.m.
