HAWS prepares for Brews 'N' Ciders, Critters 'N' Spiders fall fundraiser

WAUKESHA -- Thousands of little lives have been impacted by one organization.

"It's all about making sure that the animals in our community are treated very well as well as the people here. It's about being a humane community," said HAWS Development Coordinator Jennifer Smieja.

Now you can lend a helping hand to the animals at the Humane Animal Welfare Society, or HAWS, at its Halloween bash Brews 'N' Ciders, Critters 'N' Spiders.

"We're going to have a dinner that is a mock Thanksgiving dinner and we're also going to have things from New Glarus we're going to have a Pale Cider and hopefully Original Sin Cider," said Smieja.

HAWS' fall fundraiser will include many activities including a meet and greet with some of the adoptable pets in their best Halloween costume.

All of the money raised at the event will go towards helping animals with medical needs, obedience classes, and expanding the facility.

"We are looking to add-on to our current facility to make sure we have more room for more dog training classes and to make sure we have a larger spay neuter suite," said Smieja.

As the shelter is entirely donor funded the dollars from this fall fundraiser will make a big difference for our furry friends.

"Animals bring joy to our lives and when you're helping an animal no matter the outcome what you've done is helped another living being," said Smieja.

Brews 'N' Ciders, Critters 'N' Spiders is Friday, October 23rd from 6 pm - 10 pm at the Marriott West in Waukesha.

If you're interested in attending you need to get tickets by Friday, October 16th.
