Officer, four others hurt after police pursuit and crashes on Milwaukee's north side

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a squad car crash on Tuesday evening, October 13th that followed a pursuit of a vehicle that was stolen in a strong-armed robbery.

Officers spotted the suspect vehicle, which stolen from  neighborhood near Bremen and Wright Streets on Monday, near 62nd and Thurston just after 8 p.m.

About ten minutes later, the suspect's vehicle struck a minivan and then a tree near 20th and Chambers. Three people inside the suspect’s vehicle fled on foot and are still being sought by Milwaukee police. Two males inside the minivan were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In the same intersection, a squad from District Seven involved in the pursuit struck a car.  A male officer was taken to the hospital. It is anticipated he will be released soon after undergoing treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The other male officer in the squad car refused medical treatment at the scene.
