Mount Pleasant police announce with a "broken heart" passing of K-9 'Bones'

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Mount Pleasant Police Department is greatly saddened to announce the passing of K-9 "Bones." Bones had retired May of this year after many years of service with the department.

Police made the announcement Friday, October 16th with a "broken heart" as Bones was loved by the community and his coworkers.

K-9 handlers from Mount Pleasant, Racine, and Kenosha said their final goodbyes to Bones and say he will be missed by so many.

Mount Pleasant police wrote in a post on their Facebook page:

"We have your watch from here Bones. Please keep Officer Swart and his family in your thoughts and prayers."
