'Bay Gives Back:' Whitefish Bay students host food drive for people in need

WHITEFISH BAY -- Whitefish Bay High School students are claiming their turf while running a food drive. Saturday, October 17th, students spent time giving back to the community.

Eight groups of twenty students handed out bags in the Whitefish Bay area, and flyers for their food drive, 'Bay Gives Back.'

Each household will receive a bag and next Saturday, October 24th students will go back out and collect any food donations that homeowners provide.

The donations will be able to fill the shelves at the Riverwest Food Pantry.

"No other real reason that we decided to go with the Riverwest Food Pantry other than we really want to make sure that this food drive is all about the community and not just everywhere else. We wanted to keep the food with the people that we know the best, and we really wanted to help the community that we live in and give back which is what 'Bay Give Back' is all about," said Zackary McElduff, Whitefish Bay High School senior.
