Project Homeless Connect: One-stop-shop for those dealing with homelessness, looking for help

MILWAUKEE -- Some help for Milwaukee's homeless on Thursday, October 22nd as part of Project Homeless Connect.

The sixth annual Project Homeless Connect event was held on the Marquette University campus.

The hope was that it would be a sort of one-stop-shop for those dealing with homelessness.

The goal was to help 300 people.

"You could get a haircut, a dental screening, an eye screening -- you could talk to someone about employment opportunities, basic health checkup, walk away with lunch, a hygiene kit, a snack bag -- basic things like that," Bailey Murph with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County said.

Four-hundred volunteers helped out with the event.

United Way officials are reiterating that the services offered during this event are available year-round.
