Bucks officials invite you to help celebrate new arena with "Build the Future" tailgate

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks are inviting all of Wisconsin to join together this Saturday, November 7th, to celebrate the historic effort now underway to transform the city and state at the “Build the Future” Community Tailgate, presented by Milwaukee Tool with additional support from Johnson Controls and CASE Construction Equipment.

The free event, which is hosted by the Bucks, Play it Forward and the Old World Third Street Organization, will take place from 2-6 p.m. outside of the BMO Harris Bradley Center on N. Fourth St. between State St. and Highland Ave.

Before the Bucks battle the Brooklyn Nets that night, the area outside the arena will be transformed into a community celebration featuring live music and great food and beverage from Old World Third Street restaurants and bars, with the Wisconsin football game projected onto a 198-square-foot screen for all to enjoy. Live music will be showcased on the Miller Lite stage at the corner of Fourth and Highland beginning at 2 p.m., highlighted by a 5 p.m. performance from hip hop legend DMC, presented by CASE Construction Equipment.

Following the great lineup of music, Bucks ownership, team legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson, and other Wisconsin notables will take the stage joining in a special presentation on the bright future for this city and state, highlighted by new renderings showcasing the interior of the arena that is now under development.

In addition to the programming on the main stage, all in attendance will be invited to have a photo taken at the on-site photo booth, where a collection of the images will be eventually combined into a community mural that will be showcased in the new arena. Fans can also participate in ARTLife with the Bucks featuring Christopher McIntyre Perceptions, Sherman Pitts & Jasmine Barmore – an interactive Bucks mural project to be painted by fans. The community tailgate will also feature a Bronzeville to the Bucks Art Market showcasing the works of local artists.

Before the fun ends, fans are encouraged to stick around for a special fireworks display, presented by Johnson Controls, at 5:50 p.m. Doors for the Bucks vs. Nets game at the BMO Harris Bradley Center will open at 6 p.m. Tickets for the game are still available, but are not required for entrance to the community tailgate.
