"I miss you and I love you:" Family and friends say goodbye to ten-year-old Kevin Little

GREENFIELD -- Many gathered to celebrate the life of Kevin Little on Friday, November 13th -- who made the ultimate sacrifice for his family. Hailed as a hero, he is laid to rest.

Dozens filed into Greenfield's Elim Tabernacle for a celebration of Kevin Little's life.

"I miss you and I love you," said Little Areial Rice, Kevin Little's sister.

Kevin Little's funeral

Ten-year-old Little saved his grandmother and four brothers and sisters from a house fire at 36th and Silver Spring on October 20th.

Kevin died while trying to save his two-year-old cousin, Tae'najah Morgan. His body was found draped over hers, as thought he was trying to shield her from the flames.

"He obviously had it in his mind that this is what I'm supposed to do, be a protector, for them to find him in that position," said Robin Thomas, Little's cousin.

The crowd consists of Kevin's family and friends -- along with some who've heard about the hero.

"We told him Kevin's story and how he saved his family's lives and how he had to go to heaven because he did that," said LaQuisha Hartford, Little's cousin.

And because he did that, Kevin's sister, Little Areial, says she has a couple of gifts for her big brother when they meet again.

"A big hug and a big kiss," said Little Arieal.
