Sen. Ron Johnson offers up tribute to Packers legend Bart Starr on the House floor

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Ron Johnson paid tribute to former Green Bay Packers legend Bart Starr and his wife, Cherry, on the house floor.

The Hall of Fame quarterback recently underwent a second round of stem cell treatments in Mexico as he works toward returning to Green Bay for the Packers’ Thanksgiving Day game.

The 81-year-old Starr hopes to return Nov. 26 to Lambeau Field where he played for the Packers from 1956 to 1971. He wants to be on hand when another Packers MVP quarterback, Brett Favre, has his jersey number retired at halftime.
