Three Walker's Point buildings to be renovated into offices, apartments, retail after foreclosure sale

MILWAUKEE -- FOX6′s media partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal are reporting that three connected Walker’s Point buildings in Milwaukee were sold through a foreclosure auction to an Indiana developer that wants to move quickly converting them to retail, offices and apartments.

The three buildings are along Pittsburgh Avenue, east of Second Street and a block east of the Global Water Center and Reed Street Yards. An affiliate of Cedarview Management acquired them and sees the potential to make it their “flagship” project in Milwaukee, said Suzanne O’Connell, vice president of real estate for the Bloomington, Ind., developer. She and the company’s president are familiar with the Milwaukee area.

“We both are fans of Milwaukee and especially the funkiness of the 3rd Ward and the 5th Ward, Walker's Point area, so it's almost a no-brainer for us,” O’Connell said. “The activity in the Walker’s Point area definitely lent itself to us taking a serious look at this building when this came on our radar.”
