Misplaced Craigslist ad helps save New Jersey woman's life

NEW JERSEY — A New Jersey man whose wife died of kidney failure is donating a kidney to a woman he learned of after stumbling upon an ad posted to the wrong section of Craigslist.

Glenn Calderbank tells NJ.com the ad was mistakenly posted to a section for construction supplies. He responded to the ad and is preparing for surgery next month.

Nina Saria of Egg Harbor City had sought a donor through the website. She's suffering from kidney failure because of an autoimmune disease.

Calderbank says he's scared of the surgery but will go through with it because he wants to help. His wife died of kidney failure four years ago.

Saria says she wants to spread the word about kidney donation.
