MPD: Two in custody following armed bank robbery, pursuit; two officers hurt in minor squad crash

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating an armed bank robbery, and MPD officials say two officers were hurt in a minor squad accident afterwards.

The armed bank robbery happened at the North Shore Bank branch near 79th and Capitol Drive on Monday, November 23rd, shortly before 11:00 a.m.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in a gray Volvo after acquiring money from the bank.

Milwaukee police located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop -- but the suspects refused to stop.

A vehicle pursuit began and officers pursued the vehicle until the suspects fled on foot from the Volvo at N. Teutonia Avenue and W. Good Hope Road.

The two suspects were caught after a short foot pursuit.

Two Milwaukee police officers were involved in a minor squad accident. They were transported to the hospital for evaluation, and were released.

The investigation is ongoing -- with the assistance of the Glendale Police Department.
