MILWAUKEE — There’s a ton of food at Miller Park today, and that’s no exaggeration! Sendik’s hosted the fourth annual Drumstick Dash 5K Race Thursday, November 26th.

Runners donated funds and food that will benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

“This time of year, it is really critical to get the awareness out there. Over 75% of our clients face a choice between paying for heat or paying for groceries. So being able to fill that gap during this time of need is just really critical for our community so we’re really thankful for the generous outpouring of support today,” said Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin’s Director of Development, Anne Marie Moss.

This year, they raised over one ton of food — including the food and monetary donations, it resulted in 45,000 meals.

This is the fundraiser’s biggest collection to date.
