MILWAUKEE -- It's the most notorious of shopping days: Black Friday. True to tradition, area stores saw heavy foot traffic as shoppers sought out the season's best deals.
If you want to see pure childhood delight, stop by Wisconsin's only LEGO Store on Black Friday.
"There's stuff that you can find to build and you can build characters and bring them home," said Alex Weber, Black Friday shopper.
Kids amuse themselves while parents check a little holiday shopping off their lists.
"Mom wants them to try to put their stuff besides LEGOS on their list, because that's all they have written down," said Jeremy Weber, Black Friday shopper.
FOX6 News caught up with the Weber family a couple of hours into their Black Friday rounds.
"It's kind of cool being around all the people. It gets a little crazy sometimes but it's just kind of neat to see everybody spending money and supporting you know, the economy," said Jeremy Weber.
Throngs of shoppers continued to steadily stream into the store after its 6:00 a.m., Friday opening.
"We had a long line going outside and then we opened the doors and everybody just rushed right in," said Cathy Randle, The LEGO Store manager.
Those who'd already wrapped up their Black Friday shopping inside Mayfair Mall, wandered across the parking lot to The Container Store to put on the finishing touches.
"We have over 200 different types of gift wrap. People will come in with whatever they bought from the mall and they'll say, 'OK, I need a box that would fit this item and I would like to have this kind of a theme, or these are the colors that I'm working with,' so we can really customize it for each and every customer," said Operations Manager of The Container Store, Jen Hendry.
FOX6 News was out with shoppers most of the day on Friday, and none of the areas have seen crazy, jam-packed crowds.
However, it's definitely been busy at Mayfair Mall -- both inside the mall and out on the perimeter where The Container Store is located, have seen heavy amounts of shoppers.
