"It's been a wonderful ride:" Milwaukee Alderman Willie Wade won't seek re-election

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Alderman Willie Wade announced Tuesday, December 1st that he will not seek re-election. Wade represented the 7th District on the city's north side.

"It's been a wonderful ride -- and all good things at some point have to come to an end," said Alderman Wade during a Tuesday morning news conference.

Wade was first elected to office during a special election held on April 1, 2003, and was elected to his fourth term with 98% of the vote in the April 13, 2012 spring election.

Alderman Wade has lived in the 7th District for more than 40 years and has spent more than 27 years working in the community as a mentor, coach and teacher.

Alderman Wade says he will be endorsing Milwaukee County Supervisor Khalif Rainey for the 7th District seat on the Common Council.
