Meet Asa, the first of two snow leopards to arrive at the Milwaukee County Zoo

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Zoo's most recent addition was on display on Monday, December 7th.

Asa the snow leopard came to the zoo from Syracuse, New York.

He is the first of two new snow leopards to arrive at the zoo.

The Greater Milwaukee Foundation is working with the zoo to bring in the cats.

Asa is just over a year old, and according to zookeepers, he is a social little guy who has adapted to his new home quickly.

Zoo officials hope Asa will eventually breed with a female snow leopard who is expected to arrive at the zoo from Switzerland sometime in 2016.

Zoo visitors will see Asa sporadically while he gets used to living with his new roommate, Tomiris.

We should note -- the December "Gift to the Community" from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation is six days of free admission and parking to the zoo.
