Milwaukee police: Foot chase leads to arrest of armed robbery suspect

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating an armed robbery that took place near Prospect and Bradford on the city's lower east side on Sunday evening, December 6th.

A suspect approached a 25-year-old Milwaukee woman just before 10 p.m. Sunday and demanded her car at gunpoint. The suspect then took the victim’s car and fled from the scene.

A short time later, officers located the car -- and with the help of suburban officers, arrested the suspect, a 23-year-old man, following a short foot chase near 35th and Mother Daniels Way.

The suspect had the victim’s cell phone on him and dropped his gun while running away from the officers.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
