Jason Simcakoski Memorial Opiod Safety Act approved by United States Senate committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Capitol Hill Wednesday, December 9th, senators discussed changes to how veterans receive medications at our nation's clinics.

Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin is pushing for the bill that is aimed at providing safer and more effective pain management.

The Jason Simcakoski Memorial Opiod Safety Act is part of a larger bill.

Simcakoski died last year at the Tomah VA Medical Center.

On Wednesday, the bill was passed by a Senate committee, and now heads to the full Senate.
