Three people hurt, one seriously, following three-vehicle crash in Town of Cedarburg

CEDARBURG -- Emergency crews were called out to the scene of a three-vehicle accident in the Town of Cedarburg Tuesday morning, December 15th.

It happened at approximately 6:45 a.m. on CTH I south of Pleasant Valley Road in the Town of Cedarburg.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office says a Toyota SUV was southbound on CTH I and lost control as it failed to slow for a school bus. The Toyota swerved and struck the Ford Taurus in front of it and the Toyota continued into the northbound lane of traffic, striking a northbound Jeep. The school bus was not involved in the crash.

The Toyota was driven by a 44-year-old man from Fredonia. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight For Life with serious injuries. The Ford Taurus was driven by a 46-yeas-old woman from Saukville. She was transported via ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Jeep was driven by a 32-year-old  woman from Cedarburg. She was transported via ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other passengers were in any of the vehicles.

CTH I was closed for approximately two hours and has re-opened.

The crash remains under investigation; however, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
