Classes resume at Kettle Moraine H.S. after teacher found with "self-inflicted wounds"
WALES — Emergency responders were called out to Kettle Moraine High School Thursday evening, December 17th for a medical emergency involving a teacher who had "self-inflicted wounds."
For many in the area, Thursday night's scene was unnerving. Friday, December 18th classes resumed as many tried to understand what happened inside their school.
Around 5:00 p.m., a contractor doing work at the school found the wounded teacher in the culinary room. On the other end of the school, a Christmas concert and wrestling match were taking place.
911 was called while the contractor rendered aid to the teacher until emergency personnel arrived.

The police presence caused concern for parents however, Waukesha Sheriff's Department says they were about to quickly secure the scene and determine that the teacher had self-inflicted wounds.
Information was posted on the district's website and shared with Kettle Moraine staff and parents that read:
There was a medical emergency involving a staff member that occurred Thursday, December 17 at approximately 5 p.m. at Kettle Moraine High School. Emergency responders were called to the scene, the scene was secured, and it was determined that there was no threat to the safety of other individuals.
Activities scheduled in other sections of the building occurred as planned.
Information was posted on the District website and shared with Kettle Moraine staff and parents to communicate that the high school was safe.
We acknowledged this difficult situation with high school students this morning and have counseling services available for students and staff members who need support.
We wish to thank the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and other emergency responders who assisted with the situation.
The teacher was transported to Aurora Hospital in Oconomowoc.
As for students and staff at the school, there was a meeting held Friday morning to discuss what happened.
Counseling services have also been made available for those who need support.
