"I still have a lot to do!" Holiday shoppers hit the big-box stores to nab last-minute deals

GRAFTON -- There's only a few more shopping days left! And it was a busy day as shoppers are making the most of the last Saturday before Christmas.

After Saturday, there are only five more shopping days left and the anxiety is starting to build as shoppers attempt to make their final purchases.

"I still have a lot to do," said Amy Levy, shopper.

When time is running out, things can get a little hectic.

"You're rushing! Rushing to get all your presents and stuff," said a holiday shopper.

For the indecisive shoppers, Meijer in Grafton is a good bet.

"Actually there's a little bit of panic mode that sets in because those things that you needed to get for the kids, they are kind of disappearing," said Tara Hinze, holiday shopper.

Hinze would rather be finished shopping but the deals can get even better in the final days.

"You have to make a list. If you have to go Christmas shopping at the last minute, you need a list so you just get your things on your list and you don't freak out and forget a few things and then have to make five more trips back to the stores," Said Hinze.

From the management side of things, it's definitely an all hands on deck approach. Meijer has extra people working to keep the lines moving smoothly.

"Everybody is pretty much at the max right now. We've brought in some extra people. It's really exciting for our team members -- it's their first Christmas at Meijer. We do it a little different than a couple of the other big boxes," said Meijer Store Director, Steve Talbert.

Traditionally, the last Saturday before Christmas is the busiest shopping day for the final stretch.

Meijer's store director is expecting the same this year.
