Search warrant shows bomb threat call to Wauwatosa East H.S. came from caller in Thiensville

WAUWATOSA -- FOX6 News has learned new information on the bomb threat made to Wauwatosa East High School on December 14th.

A search warrant filed in Milwaukee County indicates the telephone number used to make the threat is listed in Thiensville.

Police say the phone call came from a "magicJack" accessory used for internet phone service.

The call was received by an administrative assistant at the school around 2:30 p.m., according to the search warrant. When that administrative assistant answered the phone, the caller immediately hung up.

The caller ID apparently read "Thiensville."

The search warrant indicates a second call was received minutes later. This time, the caller said something to the effect of: "There is a bomb in your building. You have 10 minutes to evacuate."

When the Thiensville number was dialed later, the call went directly to voicemail.

Students and staff were dismissed early that day as a precaution.

The search warrant says investigators discovered the phone number was connected to a "magicJack" accessory.

The search warrant indicates officials requested records from the communications company "YMax Communications Corp." that would show the subscriber information for that "magicJack" device, along with telephone records that would show when calls were placed, and to whom.

The caller who placed this bomb threat call could be charged with "Bomb Scares."
