We Energies: Power restored after squirrel gets into transformer, knocks out power

GREENFIELD -- Power has been restored to more than 4,000 customers in New Berlin, Greenfield and Greendale. That's according to Brian Manthey of We Energies.

Apparently a squirrel got into a transformer at a sub-station near Highway 100 and Layton Ave. in Greenfield. That knocked out power to the transformer starting around 3:30 p.m..

Crews responded to the sub-station, found the cause of the outage and restored power around 4:30 p.m.
