Dose of Reality special: An in-depth look at the heroin crisis plaguing our communities

MILWAUKEE -- It is a problem sweeping the nation and it is a big issue right here in Wisconsin -- the use and abuse of opioids and heroin. You may think it is not happening in your hometown. But this concern is not confined to just the big cities.

FOX6 is a proud to be chosen as the primary television station to partner with the state’s 'Dose of Reality' initiative. The campaign is aimed at curbing painkiller abuse, which can ultimately lead to heroin use.

The FOX6 Special: Dose of Reality takes an in-depth look at the heroin crisis plaguing our communities and what the state is doing to fight it. It includes stories from heroin addicts and their families, a closer look at legislation aimed at fighting the heroin epidemic, and a one-on-one interview with Attorney General Brad Schimel to discuss how the issue is impacting Wisconsin.
