BELOIT — Authorities have released the name of the 5-year-old boy who was shot and killed while riding in the back seat of his father's car in Beloit Friday evening, January 22nd.

The Rock County medical examiner's office said Saturday that Austin Ramos Jr. of Beloit died from "firearm related trauma" and that additional testing is being conducted.

Beloit police say the boy was killed after an SUV pulled up alongside his father's car and someone opened fire. The boy was shot at least once in the abdomen.
