Man surrenders after hours-long tactical situation near 40th & Silver Spring

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say a man surrendered without incident after an hours-long tactical situation that began on Monday evening, January 25th.

Police were called out to the area near 40th and Silver Spring Drive around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a suidical man.

A caller indicated he "wished to kill himself," police say, and he threatened to "shoot any police officers that responded."

After lengthy negotiations, the man surrendered shortly after midnight without incident.

He was taken to a hospital.
