INDIANAPOLIS — A 52-year-old woman was able to fight off an attacker using a staple gun.

The woman named Carol told police a man was waiting in her garage when she returned home on Tuesday evening, February 2nd.

“I said ‘what’s going on? What do you need? What are you doing here?’ He says ‘I have a gun. I want your purse, and I mean it. I will shoot,’” said Carol.

Carol said she told the man he could have her purse — and that it was in her car. The man then charged at her, grabbing her and pinning her against a toolbox.

“So I grabbed a staple gun and smacked him on the side of the head. He went down to his knees,” said Carol.

She assumed the man would leave, but that wasn’t the case.

“I loaded up with two more (staple guns) in my other hand and he started charging at me again and I said ‘I will crush your skull in if you touch me again,’” said Carol.

The attacker had a bloody gash to the head, so he finally decided to leave.

“It’s either me fight like heck or you know, the bad outcome,” said Carol.

Carol said she hopes what happened to her will remind everyone to be aware of their surroundings.

Police are investigating this incident.

The right thing to do would of been to dial 911 and not attempt to kill someone with another gun type device. Iam sure this man’s family will sue for medical bills this women caused u necessarily to this man.

Thank God you did not have a real gun. You might have killed this POS. You would have prevented yourself or someone else from being attacked by him again. He would never have a chance to ride on Milwaukee’s new trolley that is coming soon…

Yes, this is what sarcasm looks like…

No woman needs to protect herself from rape, assault or murder and should just leave crime prevention to the Police who are properly equipped to investigate following the crime’s completion. Women using a staple gun in self-defense interferes with and makes the attempted crime a “non-event,” which unnecessarily complicates the Police investigation. Any woman who does this should be put in jail for interfering with an investigation.

    Now, THAT’s a beautiful thing!
(Remember, ladies, it’s better to cooperate submissively; fighting will only get you hurt or killed. No, REALLY. Honest.)[eyecross]
