80-year-old woman found dead, burned on Milwaukee’s south side

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined an 80-year-old woman was found dead, and burned inside a home near S. 36th and Becher in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee fire officials say they received the call just before 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, February 12th.

According to Milwaukee police, the woman died at the scene and say the fire and her death are related.

Officials say the fire started in the lower structure of the home. The cause is still being investigated.

Investigators say the 80-year-old woman had a history of strokes and was a smoker.
