Driver killed after crashing into parked vehicle, tree in Racine

RACINE -- Racine police are investigating a deadly crash that occurred near 12th and Valley Drive Saturday morning, February 13.

Police say a 24-year-old man was driving east on 12th Street in the 1900 block, when the vehicle struck an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle. The vehicle continued east, striking a tree on the parkway.

The 24-year-old driver was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Emergency by the Racine Fire Department, and subsequently transferred to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee via Flight for Life.

The 24-year-old driver succumbed to injuries earlier this morning.

Racine Police accident investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this incident.
