The marriage capitals of every state

Most people would like to say their "I do's" in a beautiful location or stunning venue. Beaches, luxury hotels and gardens come to mind. But where do married couples thrive once happily ever after begins? FindTheHome wanted to identify the U.S. cities in every state with the highest percentage of married adults.

FindTheHome looked at all cities with at least 30,000 people, except for those in Alaska and Vermont, for which the population threshold was 10,000. We then determined the percent of residents over the age of 16 who were married.

Once we found the city in each state with the highest percentage of married adults, we ordered the overall list from lowest to highest. The resulting marriage capitals ranged from 33 percent married on the low end to 79 percent married on the high end. Data comes from the American Community Survey's five-year estimates (from 2010-2014).
