"We live for it:" Auto nuts, wrench heads, casual car fans get their fix at "World of Wheels" show

WEST ALLIS -- Hot rods invaded State Fair Park's Expo Center in West Allis this weekend, for the 54th annual "O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels" car show. The event ran from Friday, February 19th through Sunday, February 21st.

From fast cars to classic customs, the show featured some of the most unique motor vehicles -- from vintage to new.

"There is more variety this year than I`ve ever seen -- from the 20s to 2017 and everything in between. It`s unbelievable, and the quality is just steller," John Speelman, show director said.

Auto nuts, wrench heads and casual car fans were able to get their fix during the three-day show.

"This is just a cool thing, man. We live for it. It gives us something to do in winter, spring, summer, fall -- all year round," Jim Ericson said.

Despite the fact that "World of Wheels" car shows across the country are being cancelled, the event does well in Milwaukee.

"It just keeps getting bigger and more attended. We actually took the whole building this year. It`s the dedication and the passion of the motor heads that`s kept this going," Speelman said.

For some people, the event has become a tradition.

"My dad always had old cars and I`ve got an old car I`m trying to restore -- and so this keeps me in the mood to keep doing it," Kyle Bingen said.

There was fun for all ages at the "World of Wheels" car show.

"I really like the colors of the cars and I just love the cars today," Caitlyn Guzman said.

This year's show offered 300 different styles and colors for car enthusiasts.

This year's highlight was cast members from the Dukes of Hazard, as well as WWE wrestlers who were on hand for photo opportunities and autographs.
