Arson fire in Kenosha: Two men quickly arrested and charged

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Two Kenosha men are facing charges in connection with an arson fire that destroyed a barn and left a home with significant damage early on Thursday morning, February 18th.

Firefighters were called out to the scene shortly before 5:00 a.m.

The fire occurred at a home/barn in the 19400 block of 38th Street/County Highway N in Kenosha County.

A passerby reported a large wooden barn fully engulfed in flames.

An unoccupied home on the property was also determined to be on fire once firefighters arrived.

The barn was a total loss.

The house had significant damage to the basement and was determined to have been unoccupied for the past several years.

Investigators learned these fires appeared to have been intentionally set.

Two suspects were developed partially based on an item left at the scene of the fire.

The suspects were arrested the following day -- on February 19th.

      The men will be in court on March 1st for their preliminary hearings.
