MILWAUKEE -- Dozens of inventions created by African-Americans were on display Wednesday night, February 24th in honor of Black History Month.

The event was a preview of the "Black Inventors Gallery" soon-to-open full gallery.

The exhibit at City Hall featured more than 50 inventions created by African-Americans -- a "Black Inventors Gallery On-the-Go."

The event was free and open to the public.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said the goal of the exhibit was to highlight the significant impact that African-American inventors have had in the field of science, technology and engineering.

"There's such a wide diversity of kinds of inventions that impact everyday life that it becomes an 'ah-ha' moment when people get an opportunity to go through the gallery," Synovia Youngblood-Moss said.

The full gallery will open this summer near 40th and Auer.

By definition the guitar is a musical instrument having a flat-backed rounded body that narrows in the middle, a long fretted neck, and usually six strings (see photo), played by strumming or plucking.
The guitar is considered a European-invented instrument that first appeared during the medievel period. The form of the modern classical guitar is credited to Spanish guitar maker Antonio Torres circa 1850.

Yes, Precious does feature some pretty racy topics in regards to Black People. Obesity. Rape. Incest. Child abuse. Teen mothers. HIV. Welfare. Poor education. Fried chicken. Pigs feet. Black-eyed peas (not the band).
And that is exactly why the majority of the Black Community cherish the film and book, because it is about and made by/for the Black Community. No way was Angelia Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, or Keira Knightley going to steal the lead role away from a potential Black Actress. So Black People embraced and supported the book and movie.

I believe the “blunt” was invented by a black person also, however I have no proof except deductive reasoning.
