Every year the wireless industry meets in Barcelona, Spain for a show called Mobile World Congress. Many of the big wireless and device makers are there to unveil new devices.

Two big announcements came from Samsung and LG - both companies showed off their highly anticipated flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and the LG G5.

Watch the video for mostly everything you need to know about both devices in less than 3 minutes. Don't feel like watching? Here's the rundown.

Samsung Galaxy S7 is similar in size to last year's model (5.1 inches) but packs a bigger battery and a memory card slot. You can add up to 200 gigabytes of storage to the phone. The battery is not removable but that should not be an issue with the larger size, new Android Marshmallow battery saving features and wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a bigger screen (5.5 inches) and an even bigger battery. It also has a memory card slot.

Both phones are water resistant, which is really neat. They will survive drops in the tub, rain and pool.

Megapixels in the camera take a step back to 12 (down from 16 in the S6) but that should not be an issue since Samsung has tweaked the device to perform even better in low light. At this point the low light performance on Samsung (and LG) devices just blows away what the iPhone can deliver, so it will be interesting to see Apple address this issue soon.

Bottom line - the Galaxy S7 line pretty much offers everything you could want in an Android device - the latest software, extra memory, big battery, gorgeous design and water resistance. They are available for pre-order now and will be in stores March 11.

Meanwhile, the LG G5 has a unique feature - a modular port on the bottom. This means you can easily swap in a fully charged battery or add an accessory. Currently there are two available to start - a camera module with dedicated controls like a shutter button and an audio player that delivers High Fi Audio.

Looks on the G5 got an upgrade too - the device is now more premium looking with an all metal design. It will be available for pre-order in mid-March.

My pick is the S7 Edge in Titanium Silver with 32 gigabytes of storage. I'll just add a memory card with 64 or 128 gigs of storage for another $40 or $50 bucks.
