Officials with Broan-Nutone in Hartford want new highway built for $9M expansion

HARTFORD -- Officials with Broan-Nutone in Hartford want to expand, but that's dependent upon the building of a new highway.

Plans for a $9 million expansion for the company that manufactures residential and commercial air quality products have been drawn up. The expansion would impact the company's distribution warehouse in Hartford.

The expansion would result in the addition of at least 100 jobs initially.

Company officials say it will happen if city, county and state officials commit to building a new truck highway route connecting downtown Hartford with Highway 41.

The current Highway 60 isn't adequate for the added traffic, according to company officials.
