Police: "Prolific" theft suspect, just released from prison, arrested again

MILWAUKEE -- Police say a "prolific" theft suspect was arrested on Monday, February 22nd after witnesses saw the suspect break into a vehicle on the city's East Side.

It happened near Farwell and Irving around 2:20 p.m.

Responding officers located the 32-year-old suspect near Oakland and Irving and took him into custody.

Police say he is believed to have committed at least nine similar crimes over the past week.

The suspect had just recently been released from prison, has a criminal record dating back to 2005, and has been arrested by MPD more than a dozen times in his lifetime on various charges.

MPD will take this current case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
