MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police on Tuesday, February 23rd arrested a man with a loaded gun after observing a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle taken during an armed robbery.

Officers on patrol near Locust and Hopkins around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday noticed a vehicle parked in a gas station parking lot that matched the description of a vehicle taken in an armed robbery.

The officers saw a man near the car reach into his waistband and place an object next to the pump.

When officers approached, they found a loaded, semi-automatic gun next to the pump.

The 26-year-old man tried to run away, police say, but he was taken into custody on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges in the coming days.
