Two motorcyclists arrested for OWI following crash in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving two motorcycles on Sunday night, February 28th. The two motorcyclists involved in the crash were arrested for OWI.

It happened on Grant Road near CTH P in the Town of Rubicon shortly before 8 a.m.

According to authorities, a 29-year-old man from Juneau was westbound on Grant Road driving his 2005 Harley Davidson when he struck a stopped motorcycle. The stopped motorcycle was being operated by another 29-year-old man from Juneau.

 

Both drivers received non-life threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital.  Neither were wearing helmets.

The motorcyclist that was struck was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, 3rd offense. The motorcyclist that struck the stopped motorcycle was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, 2nd offense.

There was another motorcycle in the area that was not involved in the crash.  That motorcycle was driven by a 39-year-old man from rural Juneau who was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Hartford Fire/EMS, Woodland Fire Department and Neosho First Responders.
