WHITEFISH BAY — Two men are in custody after attempting to elude Whitefish Bay police on Friday morning, March 4th.

Officials say police tried to pull over a vehicle near the CVS store on Santa Monica Blvd. Two men in the vehicle ran. A foot chase went down streets and through back yards. The two were captured within blocks.

One of the suspects who ran cut himself jumping over fences. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

An officer told FOX6 News one of the men had a warrant out for his arrest.

He seemed like polite young man when he ran through my yard. Even stopped to tell me to “don’t do nothing” as i gave chase. didn’t have a chance to offer him a warm beverage.

Cool. Whitefish Bay PD gets to do more than parking tickets on BMW’s Keep the rats out of a beautiful city. Good job!!

Why do police continue to harm people by chasing? These officers need to be held accountable for this young man’s injuries. Chasing someone over a fence trespassing on private property is against the law! This man will have thousands of dollars in medical costs because of the injuries caused by police. I would encourage this man’s family to talk to an attorney about compensation for both mental and physical abuse caused by police chasing.

@ lib. Were you there? I think not.
There was no one giving chase as this young man as he ran through my yard. Trespassing on my property and threatening me and my family’s safety.
Why are you defending him? It was his choice to flee the scene. One has to ask, why?
Nothing good ever comes from running from the police. Hell, I learned that when I was 8 years old for throwing snowballs
I’m 63 and I have never seen more stupidity demonstrated by more young men than what we are seeing lately.
Please understand that this young man is very lucky. If he would have had anything in his hands as he confronted me, this could have ended differently.
Our government oversaw my training and yes it’s been a long time since I was in a war zone. I still remember how to and am quite capable of putting that training to use.
So Lib. as you pontificate about the cost. What value do you put on your loved ones? What dollar amount do you assign to them.? Do you have to worry every time you go out your door? Not knowing if he is back on the streets and with a grudge.
Maybe, just maybe you would be better served by just saying Thank you to the Women and Men who try to protect us. Not everything in this world can be solved by throwing words at it. Sometimes you need a hug and sometimes you need a slap upside the head.
I think we are past the hug point with this young man but, I could be wrong. I hope I’m wrong but, until I know, there will be 1 in the chamber when I leave my house. Guess that war zone is closer than I thought.
