MPD: 40-year-old Milwaukee man arrested following south side burglary

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers from District Two arrested a convicted felon for burglary and believe he may be responsible for two additional burglaries at the same location.

The officers responded to a business near S. 33rd and W. Scott around 2:35 a.m. on March 17th after a caller stated someone was trying to break into the business. When the officers arrived, a male suspect began to run away and dropped a crowbar he was carrying.

Officers quickly took the suspect, a 40-year-old Milwaukee man, into custody.

The suspect is a convicted felon with a criminal history dating back to 1995 and during an interview with investigators he confessed to burglaries at the business on March 14 and March 16.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
