88-year-old man killed while crossing street in Jefferson

JEFFERSON — Police say an elderly man was struck and killed while crossing a street in Jefferson.

Jefferson Police Chief Kenneth Pileggi tells WKOW-TV the 88-year-old man was crossing Main Street when he was struck about 7:30 a.m. Monday. Pileggi says the man was on his routine morning walk when he was struck and died at the scene.

The 61-year-old driver is cooperating with police.
